Plan before you book

Atlanta Wine Tours: the practical details

Our Atlanta wine tours are private, chauffeured trips from the city to Georgia wineries. Your group travels together from an agreed pickup location and returns there after the tour. Choose a destination region and a package, then we plan the stops and timing around your address, interests and meal preferences.

Departure
Private pickup can be planned from Atlanta homes, hotels, offices or the airport. The exact address and pickup arrangements must be confirmed.
Destination
Choose an Atlanta-area winery route, a Dahlonega day, or an Ellijay itinerary. These are route choices, not one combined loop.
Length
Signature and Grand Reserve typically run 6–8 hours; Atlanta travel and traffic can affect the final schedule. Confirm your required return time.

Which wine tour from Atlanta fits your day?

Atlanta is your departure point, not a single wine region. Decide how much of the day you want to spend traveling, which wineries matter most and whether a sit-down winery lunch is a priority. We confirm the workable route rather than promising every destination in one day.

Dahlonega: a mountain winery and dining day

Choose Dahlonega for a dedicated North Georgia wine-country outing. Montaluce and Wolf Mountain anchor Grand Reserve dining routes; Signature has its own covered stops and boxed-lunch plan. Keep the route focused on this area to leave more time at the wineries.

Ellijay: vineyard stops in one wine region

An Ellijay itinerary can be built around wineries such as Chateau Meichtry, Buckley or Engelheim. For Grand Reserve dining, the current Ellijay planner uses Roo Mountain. Choose this region as its own outing instead of combining it with Dahlonega or Blairsville.

Atlanta-area wineries: choose a local corridor

Ask about destinations such as Chateau Elan in Braselton or the winery options around Flowery Branch. Your pickup neighborhood and preferred wineries determine whether a proposed route fits. A winery near Atlanta is a different outing from an in-city wine-bar crawl.

Winery details that can change your plan

Visitor policies checked October 1, 2026. Wineries set their own hours and admission rules; confirm current details for your date.

Braselton: Chateau Elan

Chateau Elan prefers winery reservations, with walk-ins subject to availability. The winery currently closes on Mondays, and the last tasting starts an hour before closing. Check your date before building a route around it.

Check official visitor information

Buford: Cloudland Vineyards

Cloudland is in Buford, rather than downtown Atlanta. Its current opening days exclude Monday and Tuesday, which matters when planning a weekday winery trip.

Check official visitor information

Flowery Branch and Milton are different choices

Mulberry Springs is in Flowery Branch. Painted Horse is in Milton and takes reservations for guided cellar or private tasting experiences. Choose the corridor that fits your pickup and confirm special experiences separately.

Groups of 6+ are charged 20% gratuity up front on the final bill after discounts, fees and extras; smaller groups leave gratuity at their discretion. Optional purchases and special winery experiences are only included when specified.

Plan your Atlanta pickup before picking winery times

Share the complete pickup address, not only “Atlanta.” Downtown, Midtown, Buckhead, the northern suburbs and Hartsfield-Jackson have different approaches to wine country. Traffic and the first winery change the departure time.

Choose one agreed meeting point for your group where possible. If you need several pickups, hotel loading arrangements or an airport meeting, ask us to confirm the plan and any effect on mileage and timing before booking.

Give us your latest return time and tell us about dinner plans or flights. Do not book a tight onward connection based on a general tour-duration estimate; the route and return journey need their own buffer.

How your winery day comes together

  1. 1. Leave Atlanta together

Your driver meets your group at the confirmed location. Travel time is planned for the destination and conditions, with no universal 90-minute arrival promise.

  2. 2. Enjoy a focused winery route

Visit the stops covered by your selected package, with a planned lunch break. Keep winery reservations and driving time in the same itinerary.

  3. 3. Return to your pickup area

Finish the final stop with enough time for the drive back to Atlanta. Confirm the expected return window when your route is finalized.

Have your date, group size, pickup address and preferred region ready? We can help you match the route to the right experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Atlanta Wine Tour FAQs

Do Atlanta wine tours leave from my hotel or home?

Private pickup can be arranged from Atlanta hotels, homes and offices, as well as the airport. Share the exact address so the team can confirm meeting arrangements, routing and mileage charges.

How far are the wineries from Atlanta?

It depends on your starting neighborhood and selected winery region. Atlanta-area destinations, Dahlonega and Ellijay have different drives, and traffic can change them. We confirm departure and return times for your actual route rather than quoting one travel time for all Atlanta pickups.

Is this a shared bus tour from Atlanta?

No. North Georgia Wine Trips provides private transportation and an itinerary for your group. Winery tasting rooms may still be open to other visitors.

What does an Atlanta wine tour cost?

The final quote depends on the package, billed group size, pickup mileage, extras and applicable offer. Classic separates transport from your winery purchases; Signature and Grand Reserve include different tasting and meal options. Check current pricing and the itemized total during booking.

Which tour should we choose for a birthday or bachelorette group?

Choose Classic if guests want to buy their own tastings and food, Signature for covered tastings and a boxed lunch, or Grand Reserve for winery dining and premium tastings. Share the group size and celebration plans so winery group policies can be checked.

Can couples book an Atlanta wine tour?

Ultimate Celebration is designed for one couple and includes an approximately 10-hour day. Other packages have their own minimum billed group sizes. Review those minimums before comparing a per-person price with the total for two guests.
